The Gist Family: Some Family Firsts

Sunday, August 4, 2013 will always be a special day for both Ty and myself. It was a day filled with some "firsts" for us that are very special.

A few weeks ago, I posted about Youth Camp (Click here to read about that!) and how we had a few students make some life changing decisions! Well, this past Sunday, Ty and Daniel (our pastor) were able to baptize two of our girls from the youth group who made decisions as well as a young boy who accepted Christ at Vacation Bible School (you can read about that here!) We are SO excited for all three of these wonderful kids and so blessed by them daily! We cannot wait to see what God has in store for them in their lives. It was exciting not only because they were getting baptized, but my sweet and wonderful husband got to perform his first baptism! It was so exciting to see the joy in both his eyes and the young girl who asked him to do this. It really made my heart happy that my husband is already bonding so well with so many of these kids!

We also met up with Ty's parents to celebrate all the August birthdays! Poor Seth is the only one in May and the other three (Ty and both his mom and dad) celebrate in August! We went to Texas de Brazil in Ft. Worth...a first for me! It was fantastic! I ate way too much but greatly enjoyed the conversation and company. We then went to the Ft. Worth Water Gardens (another first for both Ty and myself!) to walk off what we ate =)

Spending time with God's people, celebrating, laughing and just enjoying life....yep, this Sunday was one of my favorites.
