S.N.A.C at the Nelson's house and Lewis's house

Woah. Where did summer go? We are almost ready for August to be here, and it seems like just yesterday, we were watching my sweet sister graduate college (check out that post here!). I am so ready for August because it will be full of exciting things in our lives: Ty's birthday, my graduation from graduate school, beginning a job as a High School Teacher...lots to look forward to!

We are, though, enjoying what little bit of summer we have left. A few weeks ago, we went to the Nelson's house for S.N.A.C and this last Wednesday we went to the Lewis's house! Both were so much fun and involved lots of swimming for our kiddos. We have so much enjoyed being able to bond with others in the church through this and I truly cannot wait to do this again next summer!

Last week we had Vacation Bible School at our church and I am very excited about how it went! Lindsey and I have been planning and preparing for months, and it was great seeing it all come together! Be looking for a post about that soon!

Also, on a completely different note, I am graduating from Graduate school next weekend!! I cannot wait! I received this email last week:

and it made everything so much better! All of my hard work is paying off and I cannot wait to spend the day with all our family and friends!

S.N.A.C at the Plemon's house and Youth Service Dinner

This summer has gone by so quickly! Ty and I have been so busy with classes, work, youth get togethers, fundraisers....all the fun things that take place in summer! A few weeks ago, we were able to go out to the Plemon's house for some good ol' fun playing horseshoes, washers, swimming in the creek and just enjoying the beautiful day! We have been so blessed with some fabulous people to serve with and we greatly enjoyed our time with them! Our kids enjoyed it too, once they learned how to play horseshoes and washers!

Love this man!

Each summer, we do fundraisers to help our youth pay for camp. This year, we were blessed by our church and raised so much money, that we didn't need to do our last fundraiser to pay for camp! So, instead, we turned it into a thank you dinner and let the youth serve our church. It was beautiful to see our students serving others with such grateful hearts! It made this minister's wife proud! We truly have fabulous kids and I appreciate their willingness to serve and love others!

So, as you can see, our lives have been crazy busy, but filled with such joy at the same time! Ty is coming home from youth camp today (yay!) and so we will update you all soon about the week they spent there!

Until Next Time,

S.N.A.C at the Vaughn's!

It's summer, y'all! Well, for most people it is. I started back to work on Monday and have FOUR classes standing between me and my master's degree. It hasn't hit me yet that this summer is going to be crazy, but I am really excited for it all!

One of the things that we are implementing this summer is an event that we call "SNAC". SNAC stands for Sunday Night After Church and it is an opportunity for our youth to interact with members of the church at their homes. We love our sweet little church and we value the community that is developed by being around other members of our congregation. This past Sunday, we had our first SNAC at Greg and Mary Ann's house. Greg is our music minister and we are so blessed to have him and his sweet wife as part of our church family!  The evening was filled with Mexican food, sombreros, charades, basketball, volleyball, and so much more! We had a great time!

Sunday morning, Lavenia and Kacie led the children's sermon and it was wonderful! It was so sweet to see them share their hearts with the younger kids in our church. I could not have been more proud of them!

Of course, they had to take a couple of selfies on my phone =)

They have a horse whose name is Shiloh; we have adopted him as our church mascot.

Towards the end of the night, Lindsey and I laid on the trampoline and just visited about life while the rest of the kiddos played badmitton. I am so blessed with her and her friendship. She has been a constant joy to my life and I am thankful for her loving spirit!

On Monday, Ty and two of our youth will head to Super Summer for the week! Please be praying for them all: for Ty specifically, pray for his health. He has been working so hard lately and his body is feeling it. For the two kiddos, that they have open hearts to hear the Lord this week and that they are radically changed by God's grace.

Until Next Time,
