Gist Family Photos: Fall 2016

I absolutely LOVE having our family pictures taken each October/November! I am not a fan of my picture, but seeing how our family has changed over the years is one of my most favorite things each year! Our sweet friend, Katie Crews, has taken these for the last 3 years and each year I am blown away by how beautiful they turn out! This year, though, they are by far my most favorite because of seeing our sweet little girl in the pictures with us! We got back over 100 images, so narrowing it down was hard, but here are a few favorites!

I hope you enjoyed seeing these as much as I do!

For fun, here are some past pictures of our family:

The Latest in our LIves

We are insanely busy! It seems as though every time I sit down to blog, something happens that causes me to change those plans. However, today, I will FINALLY update on our lives!

I am almost through my first semester teaching at Midway High School! It has gone by so fast, but has been absolutely fabulous! The end of the first six weeks was tricky, as I was put in the hospital for kidney stones...yuck! Thankfully, I have not had more pain since the end of the six weeks, so luckily things are good. My students are fabulous, and although there are days when I am tired and stressed by it all, I absolutely love what I am doing!

Ty is super busy with graduate school and youth ministry. This weekend, we will be having a lock in at our church, so life is constantly busy and crazy! He is enjoying his class, although he is also somewhat tired of graduate school too. I think that once this semester ends, things will be so much better!

In just a few days, we will celebrate our SECOND wedding anniversary!! It is so crazy how fast time flies! We cannot wait to spend some time just celebrating this special day! We have decided that each year in November, we will have family pictures made. This is when our family started, and we want to remember this special time in our lives. Our sweet friend Katie at Katie Beth Photography took these pictures (she also did our Mother's Day pictures that you can see here!)  I promise that I will do much better (or at least try to!) at blogging, but hopefully this brief update will be good enough for now!

Until Next Time,

One Year Anniversary!

This past weekend, my wonderful husband and I celebrated our first year of marriage! Honestly, the time has flown by! Over the course of the year, we have travelled to new places, seen some great movies, had many deep and wonderful conversations, both started our graduate degrees, loved on some wonderful youth, and so much more. I could not have asked for a more loving, devoted, Christ following husband and I am so blessed daily by his love, guidance and support. Although we have had our fair share of "bad" moments, he loves me and continues to choose me as his wife. I am blessed that he is mine.

We went to stay at his parents house in Rio for the weekend while they went back to college days and stayed at our apartment (I still feel bad that they had to stay there....we definitely got the better end of the deal! ha!) On Friday night, we went to eat at a local Rio place, Roughneck's and enjoyed some great burgers! We went home and after some relaxing conversation in the hot tub, decided to watch Star Wars (my husband just found out I have never seen any of them but the 3rd one!) Saturday we enjoyed a trip to the zoo in Ft. Worth and just talked about all the things we have enjoyed with each other over the past year. Finally, we came home to eat dinner with his parents and watch Gangster Squad.

Again, we had a great and quite weekend just enjoying being together. We have been so blessed in our first year of marriage....we cannot wait to see what else is in store!

Ice Cream at Baskin Robbin's before heading to Rio!

Beautiful Tree!

My sweet hubby!

New babies! I went somewhat baby crazy after seeing this little guy =)

Isn't he great! Love him!

Dippin Dots...one day this will no longer be ice cream of the future, but Ice cream of the present

Ty desperately wanted a picture with the lion...this is the best I could do.

My Best friend just got back from Australia and this made me think of her!

A blue Macaw (Like Blue in Rio...love that movie!)

Beautiful!

Sweet man.

One year down, and a lifetime more to enjoy!
Until next time!
