Family Goals

This past week while Ty was gone at Youth Camp I began thinking about some goals that I want for our family. We are both so busy that we sometimes go all day without seeing each other. Part of the reason why I am no longer babysitting for my 33 families in Waco (yes, you read that right-33 families!) is because I felt that it was not an encouragement to our marriage.

So, we have decided to do a few things to help have "family time" and encouragement for each other. We created a family menu and are making it our goal to eat dinner together every night. This might not seem like a big deal to anyone else, but for us, this is huge! We are really excited! I looked on one of my favorite blogs (Shay Shull-click here for her personal blog and here for her food blog!) for food ideas for the month. After printing them all off, I put them on our menu and of course color coded it! We now have something planned for every night and cannot wait to spend dinner together every night.

Another thing that has been on our hearts is to encourage other through bible study. So, to make this easier for us, we are going to have a bible verse that we study together each week. It will be one that we encourage each other to memorize each week as well as we study and learn from together. Our hope is that while eating dinner we will discuss our days and talk through scripture together. These are two small goals, but two that we feel will change our little family. Below are some pictures from when I was working on all this over the week and the outcome!

So, what are some of your family goals? I would love to hear about them!

My shopping buddy! Sweet Pippin LOVED going places with me!

Our hope is that each week I will update on Sunday our new verse so that you can have some encouragement too! Here is our verse for the week:

"If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and he will deliver us from Your Majesty’s hand. But even if he does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.”
Daniel 3:17-18
