Ty and I were not planning on doing much for Valentine's day. Last year, we went with my sister Leah and her friend Rachel to listen to the Waco Symphony Orchestra and Chris Botti (AMAZING!). However, I ended up in the ER the next morning with kidney stones. We agreed that just enjoying the evening, and staying out of the hospital, would be our plans.
However, Ty was presented with a different idea. He is taking a poverty class at Baylor and his professor, Jimmy Dorrell, mentioned that the World Cup Cafe would be serving dinner. The World Cup Cafe is run by Mission Waco and also sells free trade market goods. We love the cause, so we decided it would be fun to try it out!
We showed up and were very impressed! We each had a delicious meal, great company, and a great atmosphere! We got to talk with Jimmy some and listen to some middle schools play the violin and the cello. The meal in all only cost us $30, which we thought was a steal! We have decided that every year we live in Waco, we will celebrate there for Valentine's day. Ty also bought me a cross for my collection from the free trade market. We ended the night by staying home and watching the Count of Monte Cristo. All in all, a wonderful first Valentine's Day!
