Ellesyn: 9 month Update

Ellesyn has grown so much over the last month and has developed even more of her fun personality! This month we have seen our sweet little girl grow in her motor skills, her sleeping and she is so much fun!

Eating: Ellesyn is continuing to eat really well. She has had a cold recently, so she is spitting up more, but she is still a champ at eating! She has struggled lately with trying to "mush" or "chew" food, but is slowly getting the hang of it. She will eat anything! We also learned this month that she loves eating lemons and pickles!

Sleeping: Ellesyn is tall! We had to lower her crib so that she wouldn't crawl over the top, and when she wakes up she wants to stand and wait for us. She loves to wake up and start playing with her toys, and right now her favorite is her dinosaur toy that her dad got her and she loves to cuddle with him. Ellesyn naps great during the day (at least at Mrs. Jenny's house because the older girls wear her out)!

Development: Ellesyn is still a super fast crawler! She loves to grab and stand on everything and walks when we hold her hands. She isn't standing on her own but can for a few seconds. She is content playing on her own and enjoys being on the move. She can wave, clap her hands, give high fives and gives "kisses". She is so much fun!

Likes: Ellesyn loves being outside, eating, listening to music, playing with other children (or at least on her time she does!),waving, clapping her hands and cheering for herself, and reading with momma and dad!

Dislikes: getting dressed. This is still a real struggle, but singing makes it better! Sleeping/being alone at night. She also doesn't like when we tell her "no" or "stop" and she gets a little dramatic when we move her from what she wants. Currently, she likes to try and play in the toilet or with toilet paper and also with the dog food.

What we are looking forward to: We are ready for daddy's graduation and preparing for that. Also, ready for summer and trying to swim!

Ellesyn: 7 month Update!

Ellesyn is 7 months old! It is crazy to think how fast time is going by. We are constantly amazed by our sweet little girl and are so completely smitten with her!

Eating: Ellesyn is continuing to eat really well. She has struggled a little the last few weeks with food, but she is also teething which is causing her appetite to be all over the place! She is sticking with her fruits and chicken as her go to foods, but is starting to branch out with veggies more! She is also becoming more vocal when she is done and makes sure we know when she's ready to eat!

Sleeping: Ellesyn has somewhat reversed her sleeping this last month, again because of teething. She will wake up a few times a night but instead of self-soothing, she is trying to STAND in her crib! She is learning that her little baby prison might not hold her too long =)

Development: Ellesyn is crawling everywhere and is crawling FAST! She is quite the mover. She loves to see what's going on and is rarely still. She still cannot sit up on her own for too long, but that's in part because it requires her to be still. She pulls up on everything and is trying to stand on her own. She doesn't quite have the balance down, but she is getting more stable daily! She laughs and smiles all the time and grabs at everything. She loves to reach for her toys and loves the door stop in her room!

Likes: Ellesyn loves being outside, eating, listening to music, playing with other children (or at least on her time she does!) and reading with momma and dad!

Dislikes: getting dressed. This is still a real struggle, but singing makes it better! Sleeping/being alone at night.

What we are looking forward to: We are very ready for Ellesyn to wave and clap! She somewhat understands a high five, and it's about the best thing ever =)

Here are some fun events from seven months:
We watched our first Super Bowl at our first Super Bowl Party.
We went to our first Baylor Bears and Baylor Lady Bears games!
We celebrated Christmas with Uncle Daniel, Aunt Lindsey and Andrew.
I went to my first Youth Lock In!

Ellesyn: 6 Month Update

Our little girl turned six months old January 7! We love this sweet girl and have enjoyed seeing her develop so much over the last month! Here is a brief look at our growing baby girl!

Stats: Height: 26 inches tall (birth: 20.5 inches)
Weight: 16 pounds, 14 ounces (birth: 7 pounds, 14 ounces)

Eating: Ellesyn is a champion eater! From day one, she would eat however we fed her! She has no problem switching from nursing, to bottles, to food! Currently, she is pretty much on food/cereal during the day and a bottle here and there. Overall she is right on track and in perfect health!

Sleeping: Ellesyn has finally figured out sleeping and we couldn't be more excited! She is sleeping through the night with an occasional wake up here or there, but nothing that requires attention. When she wakes up in the morning, she will play by herself with her elephant wub-nub and after a few minutes, she lets us know she is ready to get up!

Development: Ellesyn is doing great developmentally! She is army crawling everywhere and rolls around the room constantly. She doesn't like to be still, so she is still a little weak in regards to sitting up on her own, but she does well. She grabs for toys, "talks" constantly and laughs when momma and daddy make funny faces. She tracks people and animals all over a room, and will notice when we leave. She loves playing in her walker toy so she can move around and chews on just about anything!

Likes: Food! She really likes chicken, fruits and her oatmeal cereal. She loves mom, daddy, watching the dogs play, her toys that play music, bath time, watching basketball and football, the Gilmore Girls theme song (seriously, her favorite!) and reading books with mom and dad!

Dislikes: Veggies! She is getting some better but these are still a struggle. She doesn't like being alone or being away from mom and dad. She doesn't like her carseat or getting dressed.

What we are looking forward to: We are so ready for our little one to be mobile! She will be soon, and we aren't fully prepared but looking forward to keeping up with our energetic girl! We are ready for her to start talking and ready for her to wave and clap!
